Edit Areas
Whether it is to correct a small issue or update settings entirely, Areas can be edited and their properties modified after they are created.
Changes to Area names
If you are unable to edit the name of an Area, this means that the Area is likely in use on other sites within your Applicability group. This restriction prevents Administrators from causing unexpected changes and confusion on sites they do not administer.
Only users with Site Administrator permissions on all sites within the Applicability group will be able to makes changes to the name of an Area.
PLEASE NOTE: Changes to the name of an Area are reflected in the history of policies that are assigned to the Area. Policy History is located at the bottom of any given policy for users with elevated permissions for the given policy (Owner, Approver or above).
Here you learned that Applicability can impact actions you can take with Areas. In the next section, we'll look at the other ways to manage Areas that might be used on other sites in your system.
