The Scheduled Effective Date feature allows a document to be fully approved but be placed in an on-hold status (called Scheduled) until a specific selected date arrives.
When policies are scheduled to become effective on a scheduled date, all necessary parties (Owner, Approver, Area Editor, Area Manager, Site Administrator) will be notified per standard PolicyStat notification methods that the policy has completed the workflow.
If a specific date was chosen to become effective, the notification will include that date.
Scheduled Status to Active Notification
When the policy is nearing the date it is scheduled to become effective, all necessary parties will receive notifications five days before the effective date.
For example:
The policy “Kitchen Sanitation” has completed the approval process and is scheduled to become effective (active) on September 1, 2017.
Pending Status Nearing Scheduled Effective Date Notification
Consequently, if a policy is scheduled to become effective on a specific date but has not completed the workflow, a notification will be sent five days prior to the effective date to advise that the date is approaching.
For example:
The policy “Kitchen Sanitation” has not completed the approval process but is scheduled to become effective (active) on September 1, 2017. This policy will not become effective if all approvals are not made by this date.
If desired or appropriate, the Scheduled Effective Date can be extended to allow additional time for review.
